Given:

volume of HCl ( 1M) solution = 500ml

volume of HCl ( 0.5M) solution = 300ml

To Find:

the molarity of the resulting solution =?

Solution:

Now, we know that the resulting molarity can be calculated by using the formula,

M_{1} V_{1}  + M_{2} V_{2} = M_{r} V_{r}

here M1 = molarity of solution 1

        V1 = volume of solution 1

        M2 = molarity of solution 2

        V2 = volume of solution 2

       Mr = molarity of resulting solution = y

        Vr = volume of resulting solution = 500 + 300 = 800 ml

Now, putting values in the above equation,

(500 × 1) + (300 × 0.5) = y × 800

y = 0.81 M

Thus from the given options, the molarity of the resulting solution is option B or 0.8 M
