500 persons are taking a dip into a cuboidal pond which is 80m long and 50m broad.
What is the rise of water level in the pond, if the average displacement of the water by
a person is 0.04m3

Answer:

Let 'h' be the rise in the level of water in the tank.

Now,

The amount of water rises in the tank = Displacement of water taken by 500 persons.

That is:

\implies Length × Breadth × Height

But we have:

\implies 20 \sf{m^{3}} = 80 m × 50 m × h

And:

Let us find the rise of water level in the pond, so:

\implies \sf{h=\frac{20}{80 \times 50}}

\implies \sf{h=\frac{20}{4000}}

\implies \sf{h=\frac{1}{200}\:m}

\implies \sf{h=0.5\:cm}

Thus,

The rise of level of water in the tank: 5 mm
