About eighty per cent of the people live in villages my mother land is the sun land of villages and fields. The network of mighty rivers like the Yamuna, the Ganges, the Brahmaputra, the Godavari, Narmada and Kaveri feed our fields to make them fertile. The gangetic plains are the most fertile.
⇒ It is a big country. its boundaries stretch from the Himalayas in the north to Kanya Kumari in the south, from the Assam Hills in the east to the Bay of Kutch in the west. It has natural boundaries that protect us. The Himalayas in the north and the Indian Ocean on three sides are our sentries.
⇒ India is the biggest democracy in the world. There is universal adult franchise. Any person having completed the age of eighteen is eligible to cast vote.
⇒ India is a secular country. She is not theocratic like Pakistan and Bangladesh. The state is neutral in matters of the religion. There is unity in diversity. People speak different languages, profess different religions, have different cultures. Still, there is a link of one-ness.
⇒ India has made a great progress in the field of science and technology. India is the largest producer of scientific and technical personnel. She has entered the nuclear club along with America, Soviet Russia, France and Britain. She has entered the space club also. She successfully launched space crafts like Aryabhatt, Rohini etc.
⇒ She is the torch-bearer of peace in the world. Even after exploding nuclear device, she has not manufactured atom bombs. She is always trying to have good neighbouring relations. She has not joined the American or the Russian bloc. Rather, she advocates and practises non-alignment in international affairs.
⇒ India is a craze of the tourists. The Taj, Fatehpur Sikri the Qutub Minar and Red Fort are the spots of attraction. The Taj is the eighth wonder of the world. The Kashmir is the heaven on earth.
