Let's solve the bracket first.

 {50x}^{2}  - 2 {(x - 2)}^{2}

 {50x}^{2}  - 2( {x}^{2}  - 4x + 4)

 {50x}^{2}  - 2 {x}^{2}  + 8x - 8

Reduce to simplest form.

 {48x}^{2}  + 8x - 8

The equation is....

 {6x}^{2}  + x - 1

By splitting the middle term,

6 {x}^{2}  + 3x  - 2x - 1 = 0

3x(2x  + 1) - 1(2x + 1) = 0

(3x - 1)(2x + 1) = 0

Hence the value of 'x' is....

x =  \frac{1}{3}  \: or \:  \frac{ - 1}{2}
