A rational number between -2/3 and 1/4 is:-

First we should change the denominators of the both into same i.e

= -2 x 4/ 3 x 4 and 1 x 3/ 4 x 3
= -8/12 and 3/12

So, therefore the rational numbers between -2/3 and 1/4 are:-

-7/12, -6/12, -5/12, -4/12, -3/12, -2/12, -1/12, 0/12, 1/12, 2/12.

So, as -5/12 is the only number in the given options which is there in these rational numbers, 2 is the correct option I.e -5/12
