Given :

Sonometer  wire length l = 0.5 m  

T = Mg = 5 × 9.8 N

n = 100 Hz

n =( 1/2l)√( T / m)

100=(1/2x0.5) √(5x9.8/m)

Squaring on both sides,

(100)²=49/m

M=49/100²

M=0.0049kg/m

∴the linear density of material of wire is 0.0049 kg/m
