let the area of the total field be F

given 55 cows eat the field in 16 days

⇒ 55 cows eat an area of F/16 in one day

inorder to eat the field in 10 days the cows must eat an area of F/10 daily

⇒ 55 cows eat an area of F/16 in one day

⇒ 55 × (16/10) cows eat an area of F/16 × (16/10) in one day

⇒ 88 cows eat an area of F/10 in one day

⇒ 88 cows eat an area of F in 10 days

=> Here, number of cows⬆️ and number of days⬇️ are inversely related

=> Let the required number of cows be x

So,
 = > 10 \times x = 16 \times 55 \\ \\ = > \bf x = \frac{16}{10} \times 55 = \underline{ 88}

So the required number of cows are 88.
