EVALUATION

Let

Number of chair = x and number of chair = y

It is given that total number of chair and table = 57

Thus we get

x + y = 57 - - - - - - (1)

Again the cost of 1 chair is Rs. 90 and the cost of 1 table is Rs. 120

So by the given condition

90x + 120y = 6000

⇒ 3x + 4y = 200 - - - - - (2)

From Equation 1 we get

y = 57 - x

From Equation 2 we get

3x + 4( 57 - x ) = 200

⇒ 3x + 228 - 4x = 200

⇒ x = 28

From Equation 1 we get

y = 57 - 28 = 29

FINAL ANSWER

The number of chairs = 28
