5a + b = 2 ------------eq(i)

6a - 3b = 1 ------------eq(ii)

multiplying eq(i) by 3 and then adding the result with eq(ii)

15a + 3b = 6

6a - 3b = 1

––––––––––

21a = 7

a = 7/21

a = 1/3

Putting value of a in eq(i)

5 × 1/3 + 3b = 6

5/3 + 3b = 6

3b = 6 - 5/3

3b = 13/3

b = 13/6
