Answer:

Given:

Mass of body = 5 kg

Radius = 2 m

Angular Velocity = 2 rad/s

To find:

Centripetal force experienced by the body

Concept:

Centripetal force is a radially inward directed force experienced during circular (or circular like) motion.

It is also the resultant of all the forces acting on a body.

The word is derived from 2 components

  • Centrum = Centre
  • Petere = To seek

Calculation:

Mathematically , it can be found as :

 \sf{ \orange{F =  \dfrac{m {v}^{2} }{r}}}

Now converting v (linear Velocity ) into ω ( Angular Velocity)

 \sf{ \implies \: F =  \dfrac{m {( \omega r)}^{2} }{r}}

 \sf{ \implies \: F = m {( \omega )}^{2} }{r}

 \sf{ \implies \: F = 5 {(2)}^{2} }{1}

 \sf{ \implies \: F = 20 \:N}

So final answer is :

  \boxed{ \large{\sf{ \blue{ \: F = 20 \:N}}}}

Given

  • Mass(m)=5kg
  • radius (r)=2m
  • Angular velocity =2 rad./sec

Formula used:-

Centripetal force =mv²/r

To find out:centripetal force

Solution:

  • V=rw

Centripetal force =mv²/r

putting the value

Now,

F=m×(rw)²×r

F =5×(2)

F=5×4

F=20

F=20N

Knowledge enhancer

  • Centripetal force: The force which is excreted by a body to keep revolving body in circular path is called centripetal force.
