Therefore, 5 Men in 6 days do 30 X work

Similarly, 8 women in 6 days do 48 Y work

Put together, they do 30X + 48Y work in 6 days

It also equates the work done by 4 women in 42 days which is actually 168Y

30X + 48Y = 168Y

30X = 120Y

1 X = 4 Y

Hence, the efficiency of a man is 4 times that of a woman.

If 4 women need 42 days to do the said job, one man will need 42 days to complete the same work
