5ml of water was taken in a test tube and china dish separately. These samples were then kept under different condition as below
(a) Both the samples are kept under a fan
(b) Both the samples are kept inside the cupboard
State in which case evaporation changes if above activities is carried out on a rainy day? How does it change? Justify your answer ​

Evaporation will be faster in Case 1, where the dishes are kept under the fan. This is because when the wind is blowing, it makes the rate of evaporation faster. If the same experiment is carried out on a rainy day, the water will not evaporate too much. This is because -

During the rainy season, humidity content in the air is high. So if the air is already laden with moisture, there is not much chance of the water evaporating into the atmosphere.

During rainy days, the temperature is low, so the rate of evaporation will be slower.

The rate of evaporation depends upon the amount of sunlight received. More is the sunlight, faster is the rate of evaporation. During rainy days, sunlight is not much.

And if winds blow faster, rate of evaporation will also be faster.
