5n - 9 = 2n + 6
5n - 2n = 6 +9
3n = 15
n = 15/3 = 5

6
5n - 9 = 2n + 6

adding 9 on both sides,

5n - 9 + 9 = 2n + 6 + 9

5n + ( -9 + 9 ) = 2n + ( 6 + 9 )

5n = 2n + 15

adding - 2n on both sides,

5n - 2n = 2n - 2n + 15

( 5n - 2n ) = ( 2n - 2n ) + 15

3n = 15

divide by 3 on both sides,

( 3n ) / 3 = 15 / 3

n = 5

Therefore the value of n satisfying the equation is 5.
