Step-by-step explanation:

  • We have the condition that :-
  • If a and b are two numbers then 1/b = -2.
  • First of all we have to decide that what are those numbers which when divided , gives the quotient-2.
  • So we can find this by the following method:-
  • First remind the multiplication table of 2.
  • e.g.= 2×1=2
  • 2×2=4
  • 2×3=6
  • 2×4=8
  • 2×5=10
  • We have to find 5 pairs of numbers.
  • Hence we reimind the table of 2 upto 5.
  • Now as we have the quotient in minus hence we have to put a minus sign in the numerators.
  • Now if we divide the products of table 2 by the factor except 2 and put a minus sign in each case, we can get our required solution.
  • So 5 pairs of numbers are:-
  1. -2/1=-2
  2. -4/2=-2
  3. -6/3=-2
  4. -8/4=-2
  5. -10/5=-2.

Hence our required numbers are:-

(-2,1),(-4,2),(-6,3),(-8,4),(-10,5)
