5
Step-by-step explanation:
- We have the condition that :-
- If a and b are two numbers then 1/b = -2.
- First of all we have to decide that what are those numbers which when divided , gives the quotient-2.
- So we can find this by the following method:-
- First remind the multiplication table of 2.
- e.g.= 2×1=2
- 2×2=4
- 2×3=6
- 2×4=8
- 2×5=10
- We have to find 5 pairs of numbers.
- Hence we reimind the table of 2 upto 5.
- Now as we have the quotient in minus hence we have to put a minus sign in the numerators.
- Now if we divide the products of table 2 by the factor except 2 and put a minus sign in each case, we can get our required solution.
- So 5 pairs of numbers are:-
- -2/1=-2
- -4/2=-2
- -6/3=-2
- -8/4=-2
- -10/5=-2.
Hence our required numbers are:-
(-2,1),(-4,2),(-6,3),(-8,4),(-10,5)
