10x = y

5x + y = 225 rs.

putting y = 10x in equation :- (see 1)

5x + 10x = 225 rs.
15x = 225 rs.
x = 225/15 rs
x = 15 rs.

So, cost of one pen = 15 rs.

now cost of one book = cost of 10 pens

cost of book = 10 × 15 rs
cost of book = 150 rs.

Now, we have to find cost of 3 pens and 2 books

3 × 15 rs. + 2 × 150rs.
45 rs. + 300 rs.
