Hello!

\star\: \bf\small{ANSWER} :

\boxed{\red{\bf{x = 1}}}

\star\: \bf\small{EXPLANATION} :

\sf (5x-1)(x+3) = (x-5)(5x+1) + 40 \\ \\ \implies \sf \cancel{5x^{2}} +15x-x-3= \cancel{5x^{2}} + x-25x-5+40 \\ \\ \implies \sf 14x -3 = 35+3 \\ \\ \implies \sf 24x + 14x = 35+3 \\ \\ \implies \sf 38x = 38 \\ \\ \implies \sf x = \dfrac{38}{38} \implies \boxed{\red{\bf{x = 1}}}

(5x - 1)(x + 3) = (x - 5)(5x + 1) + 40

5x² + 15x - x - 3 = 5x² + x - 25x - 5 + 40

14x - 3 = - 24x + 35

14x + 24x = 35  + 3

38x = 38

x = 38 ÷ 38

x = 1

Answer: x = 1
