Hi,

It is related to simple equations,

0.5x + x / 3 = 0.25x + 7

Take all the x terms one side

0.5x + x / 3 - 0.25x = 7

Take x common,

( 0.5 + 1 / 3 - 0.25 )x = 7

LCM is 3,

( 1.5 + 1 - 0.75 ) x /3 = 7

( 2.5 - 0.75 ) x = 21

1.75x = 21

175x/100 = 21

7x/4 = 21

x = ( 21 × 4 ) / 7

x = 12

I hope this helps you.

 \frac{5x}{10}  +  \frac{x}{3}  = 0.25 + 7 \\ \\  \frac{15x + 10x}{30} = 7.25\\ \\  \frac{25x}{30}   = 7.25 \\ \\by \: cross \: multiplicaion \\ \\25x = 7.25 \times 30 \\ \\25x = 217.5 \\ \\x =  \frac{217.5}{25}  \\ \\x = 8.7
