I think you mean to find x and y

then it is
5x=2(x-2)
5x=2x-4
3x=-4
x=-4/3

5x=(7-y)-(2x-2)
-20/3=7-y+8/3+2
-28/3=9-y
55/3=y

hope it helps

5x=2x-4------>3x=4=x=-4/3

Now 5x=7-y-2x-2
5x+2x=5-y
7x-5=-y
7 (-4/3)-5=-y
-28/3-5=-y
-28-15/3=-y
-43/3=-y
y=43/3
