Answer:

x = 1/29

y = 5/58

Step-by-step explanation:

5x - 2y = 0.....(i)

4x + 10y = 1.....(ii)

Let us multiply eq. (i) by 5

=> 5 × (5x - 2y = 0)

=> 25x - 10y = 0.....(iii)

Now (ii) and (iii)

=>

4x + 10y = 1

+ 25x ± 10y = 0

= 29x = 1

=> x = 1/29

Put the value of x in eq. (i)

5x - 2y = 0

=> 5(1/29) - 2y = 0

=> 5/29 - 2y = 0

=> - 2y = -5/29

=> 2y = 5/29

=> y = 5/29 ÷ 2

=> y = 5/29×2

=> y = 5/58

Hence the value of x = 1/29 and value of y = 5/58.

hope it helps.

Step-by-step explanation:

5x - 2y = 0 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: (1)

4x - 10y = 1 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: (2)

Multiplying equation 1 with 5 and 2 with 1

Adding equation 1 and 2

 25x -  \not10y = 0 \\ 4x  -  \not10y = 1 \\    \underline{\:  \:  \: -   \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: - \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   - } \\  {29x = 1}

x =  \frac{1}{29}

On putting the values of x in equation 1

5( \frac{1}{29} ) - 2y = 0

 \frac{5 - 58y}{29}  = 0

5 - 58y = 0

 \not - 58y = \not  - 5

y =  \frac{5}{58}
