Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Equations:

  • 5x + 2y = 13   ⇒ ( Eqn. 1 )
  • x + 5y = 4      ⇒ ( Eqn. 2 )

From Second equation we get,

⇒ x = 4 - 5y     ⇒ ( Eqn. 3 )

Substituting Eqn. 3 in Eqn. 1 we get,

⇒ 5 ( 4 - 5y ) + 2y = 13

⇒ 20 - 25y + 2y = 13

⇒ 20 - 13 = 25y - 2y

⇒ 7 = 23 y

⇒ y = 7 / 23

Substituting value of 'y' in Eqn. 3 we get,

⇒ x = 4 - 5y

⇒ x = 4 - 5 ( 7 / 23 )

⇒ x = 4 - 35 / 23

⇒ x = ( 92 - 35 ) / 23

⇒ x = 57 / 23

These are the required values.

Hope it helped !!
