multiply 3 with first equation

so,

15x + 6y = 48

now multiply 2 with second equation

so,

14x - 6y = 68

now adding both the equation,

we get,

29x = 116

x = 116/29 = 4

now putting x=4 in equation first,

5x+2y=16

5x4 + 2y = 16

2y = 16-20 = -4

y = -2

therefore,

x=4 and y=-2
