x+8y=26______(ii)

(ii) into 5

5x-2y=4

5x+40y=130

Substract

-42y=-126

42y=126

y=126/42

y=18/6

y=3

Answer:

5x-2y=4 ----1

x+8y=26 (multiplying it with 5) = 5x+40y=130-----2

subtracting both equations we get (equation 2-1)

42y = 126

y = 3

by putting value of y in 1

5x= 4+6

x=2

i hope this helps mark it as brainiest
