Given : 5x + 3 = (4/3)(1 + x)

To Find : Solve for x

Solution:

5x + 3 = (4/3)(1 + x)

Multiply both sides by 3

=> 3(5x + 3) = 3(4/3)(1 + x)

=> 15x + 9  = 4(1 + x)

=> 15x + 9 = 4 + 4x

Subtract 4x both sides

=> 11x  + 9  = 4

Subtract 9 both sides

=> 11x  = -5

Divide by 11  both sides

=> x = - 5/11

Value of x  is  - 5/11

Verify

5x + 3 = (4/3)(1 + x)

LHS = 5(-5/11) + 3

= -25/11 + 3

= 8/11

RHS = (4/3)(1 - 5/11)

= (4/3) (6/11)

=8/11

LHS = RHS

Hence Verified
