☆Answer☆

5x+3y = 24 .....(1)

3x-y = 20 .....(2)

From equation (2)

x = (20+y)/3

Substituting the value of 'x' in equation (1), we get:

5(20+y)/3+3y = 24

(100+5y)/3+3y = 24

100+5y+9y = 72

100+14y = 72

14y = 72-100

14y = -28

y = -2

Putting the value of 'y = -2' in equation (1), we get:

5x+3(-2) = 24

5x-6 = 24

5x = 24+6

5x = 30

x = 6

Hence,

x = 6

y = -2

Answer:

5x+3y=24

5x=24-3y

x=(24-3y)/5 -----(1)

3x-y=20 ---------(2)

3×(24-3y)/5-y=20

(72-9y)/5-y=20

(72-9y-5y)/5=20

72-9y-5y=20×5

72-14y=100

-14y=100-72

-14y=28

y=28/-14

y = -2

putting the value of y in (1)

x=(24-3y)/5

x=(24-3×-2)/5

x= (24+6)/5

x= 30/5

x=6
