By substitution method-

●5x+3y = 26

●4x+4y = 24

Now,

4x+4y = 24

4(x+y) = 24

x+y = 24/4

x+y = 6

x = 6-y -1st equation

5x+3y = 26

By substituting the value of x in this equation-

5(6-y) +3y = 26

30-5y +3y = 26

30-2y = 26

-2y = 26-30

-2y = -4

y = -4/-2

= 2

By substituting the value of y in first equation -

x = 6-y

x = 6-2

= 4

➡ x-y = 4-2 = 2
