Hi ,

5x + 3y = 9 ---( I )

2x + 3y = 12 ---( II )

are two given equations.

subtract equation ( II ) from ( I ) ,we get

3x = - 3

x = -3/3

x = -1 ,

put x = -1 in equation ( I ) , we get

5( -1 ) + 3y = 9

-5 + 3y = 9

3y = 14

y = 14/3

Therefore ,

x = -1 , y = 14/3

I hope this helps you.

Heya !!

5X + 3Y = 9 ------(1)

And,

2X + 3Y = 12 ------(2)

Subtracting equation (1) and equation (2)

5X + 3Y = 9

2X + 3Y = 12

--------------------

3X = -3

X = -3/3 = -1

Putting the value of X in equation (1)

5X + 3Y = 9

5× -1 + 3Y = 9

-5 + 3Y = 9

3Y = 9+5

Y = 14/3

Hence,

X = -1 and Y= 14/3.
