 \sf \frac{5x}{4}   + \frac{1}{2}  =  2x - \frac{  1}{2}

Take L.C.M. to make the denominators same

L.C.M. of 4,2 on L.H.S.=4

L.C.M. of 1 and 2 on R.H.S.=2

  = \sf \frac{5x + 2}{4}  =  \frac{4x  - 2}{2}

  \sf= 2(5x + 2) = 4(4x - 2)

 \sf  = 10x + 4 = 16x - 8 \\  \\ \sf  = 10x - 16x =  - 8 - 4 \\  \\  \sf =  - 6x =  - 12  \\  \\  \sf = x =  \frac{ \cancel - 12}{ \cancel - 6}  = 2

So x=2
