$\implies 5x = 3x + 14$

$\implies 5x - 3x = 3x + 14 - 3x$

$\implies 2x = 14$

/* Dividing bothsides by 2, we get */

$\implies \frac{2x}{2} = \frac{14}{2}$

$\implies x = 7$

$\therefore \green { 7 \:is \: the \: solution \:of \:the \: equation . }$

Verification :

/* Substitute x = 7 in the equation , We get */

$LHS = 5x - 4$

$= 5 \times 7 - 4$

$= 35 - 4$

$= 31 \: --(1)$

$RHS = 3x + 10$

$= 3 \times 7 + 10$

$= 21 + 10$

$= 31\: --(2)$

/* From (1 ) and \(2) we conclude that */

$LHS = RHS$

x = 7 .

Solution :-

=> 5x - 4 = 3x + 10

=> 5x - 3x = 10 + 4

=> 2x = 14

=> x = 14/2

=> x = 7

Verification :-

• 5x - 4

[ Put x=7 ]

=> 5(7) - 4

=> 35 - 4

=> 31

.°. 5x - 4 = 31 ---------- (1)

• 3x + 10

[Put x=7 ]

=> 3(7) + 10

=> 21 + 10

=> 31

.°. 3x + 10 = 31 ---------- (2)

From eqn. (1) & (2) ,

=> 5x - 4 = 3x + 10
