  • The answer is somehow wrong because it should be \dfrac{5x}{4} - 3 = 2

= \dfrac{5x}{4} - 3 = 2

  • Multiply 4 on both sides

=4 ×( \dfrac{5x}{4} - 3) = 4 × 2

= 5x - 12 = 8

= 5x = 8 + 12

= 5x = 20

= x = \dfrac{20}{5}

= x = 4
