Answer:

5x+6y=13--------[1]

7x+5y=8---------[2]

Multiply equation [1] by 5 and equation [2] by 6,

Therefore,

=>25x+30y=65---------[3]

42x+30y=48---------[4]

Subtract equation [4] from [3]

Therefore,

=> 25x+ 30y= 65

- 42x + 30y= - 48

_____________

- 17x+0 = 17

=>-17x=17

x= 17

- 17

x=-1

Substitute x=-1 in equation [1]

Therefore,

5(-1)+6y=13

=>-5+6y=13

=>6y=13+5

=>6y=18

=>y=18

6

=> y=3

Therefore,

x=-1 and y=3
