5x + 7(x - 2) = 3 - 4(x + 6)

5x + 7x - 14 = 3 - 4x - 24

12x + 4x = 3 - 24 + 14

16x = - 7

x = -7/16

Given :

 5x + 7(x - 2) = 3 - 4(x + 6)

To find :

The value of x

Solution :

 5x + 7(x - 2) = 3 - 4(x + 6)

 5x + 7x - 14 = 3 - 4x - 24

 12x - 14 = - 21 - 4x

 12x + 4x = - 21 + 14

 16x = - 7

 x = \frac {-7}{16}

 \implies Hence, the value of x is  \: \frac {-7}{16} \: .
