5x+8y=9, 2x+3y=4 solve by elimination method

Answer:

5x+8y=9 , 2x + 3y = 4

now

from first eq

5x=9-8y

=x=9-8y/5_-__3

now putting value of x in eq 2

2(9-8y/5)+3y=4

18-16y/5+3y = 4

18-16y+15y/5=4

18-y=5*4

y=20-18

y=2

now putting value of y in eq 3rd

9-8*2/5

9-16/5

7/5

x=1.4 ans
