Correction :-

  • It Is Called Elimination Method.

Step By Step Solution:-

=> 5x+8y = 9......... (i)

=> 2x+3y = 4.......... (ii)

Now, I am Going To eliminate Y. If You want You Can eliminate x also........

=> Multiplying eqn (i) by 3 and eqn (ii) by 8....

=> 3(5x+8y) = (9)3

=> 8(2x+3y) = (4)8

=> 15x+24y = 27..... (iii) & 16x+24y = 32.....(iv)

=> Subtracting Eqn (iii) from eqn (iv).....

=> 16x+24y = 32 -(15x+24y = 27)

=> 16x+24y = 32 - 15x-24y = -27

=> Subtracting Like terms we get....

=> x = 5.

Substituting value of x in eqn (i).....

=> 5x+8y = 9

=> 5(5)+8y = 9

=> 25+8y = 9

=> 8y = 9-25

=> 8y = -16

=> y = -2

So, X = 5 & Y = -2 .

Hope It Helps You....... :)
