Given,

p(x) = 5x² - 8x - 4

==> p(x) = 5x² - 10x + 2x - 4

==> p(x) = 5x( x - 2) + 2(x - 2)

==> p(x) = (x - 2)(5x + 2)

∴ Zeroes are 2 , -2/5

We know,

==> Sum of zeroes = - (coefficient of x) / (coefficient of )

==> 2 + (-2/5) = -(-8)/5

==> (10 - 2) / 5 = 8/5

==> 8/5 = 8/5

Also,

==> Product of zeroes = (constant term) / (coefficient of )

==> 2 × -2/5 = -4/5

==> -4/5 = -4/5

Hence, Proved.
