5x² -6x -2 = 0

5x² -6x = 2

divide both sides by 5

we get

x² -6/5x = 2/5

add square of half of coefficient of x both sides..

we get

x² -6/5x +(3/5)² = 2+(3/5)²

(x-3/5)² = 9/25 +2/5

(x-3/5)² = √19/5

x-3/5 = plus minus √19/5

x = 3/5 + √19/5. or x = 3/5 - √19/5

x = (3+√19)/5. or x can be (3-√19)/5
