Compare √5x² - x - √5 = 0 with ax²+bx+c = 0,
we get
a = √5 , b = -1 , c = -√5
discreaminant ( D ) = b² - 4ac
D = ( -1 )² - 4 × √5 × ( - √5 )
D = 1 + 4 × 5
D = 1 + 20
D = 21
Therefore ,
discreaminant ( D ) = 21
