QUESTION

5y-4)/3=y+2

what is the value of y by transposing method

TOPIC .TRANSPOSING METHOD

it is a method which is used to solve the algebraic expressions .here we have lot of method to solve algebraic equations.

BACK ON QUESTION

 \frac{5y - 4}{3}  = y + 2

Step (1) Multiply both side by 3 ( to get rid of fraction term)

 \frac{5y - 4}{3}  \times 3 = (y + 2) \times 3

5y - 4 = 3y  + 6

Step 2)

Subtract 3y from both side

5y - 3y - 4 = 3y - 3y + 6

2y - 4 = 6

Step 3)

Add 4 both side we get

2y  - 4 + 4= 6 + 4

 = 2y = 6 + 4

2y = 10

STEP 4)

DIVIDE By 2 both side

 \frac{2y}{2}  =  \frac{10}{2}

y = 5
