6.3g oxalic acid dihydrate is dissolved in 250ml of water then the molarity on the solution is

molarity M = \frac{n}{v}

M = molar concentration

n = moles of solute

v = liters of solution

M = 250/ 6.3

M = 39.69

Answer:

molarity = 0.2 M

Explanation:

there are two methods to solve this question

method 1 ( directly find molarity)

molarity = no. of moles of substance in one litre

               = no. of moles / volume given

               =  given mass of substance        *              1000

                 molecular mass of substance            volume in ml

              so according to data given, this becomes,

                =           6.3 g                 *    1000       -------- equ (1)

                   molecular weight              250

now lets find molecular weight of oxalic acid dihydrate:

C2H2O4.2H2O

carbon's mass here= 2*12=24

hydrogen's mass = 6*1=6

oxygen.. = 6*16=96

thus, molecular weight= 24+6+96=126

now back to equ (1)

molarity=    6.3       *    1000

                   126                250

             =   0.7  *  4    =   0.1  * 4 = 0.2 M

                    14                   2

hope this helped...
