The second number is 70.

  • It is given that 6/5 of a number is equal to 3/7 of the number.
  • Let the first number be x and the second number y.

\frac{6}{5}x = \frac{3}{7}y

14x - 5y = 0       .....(Equation 1)

  • 24 when added to the first number , it becomes 70% of the second number.

x + 24 = 0.7y

x - 0.7y = -24     .....(Equation 2)

  • Solving both equation 1 and 2, we get
  • Multiplying equation 2 by 14 and subtracting equation 1 from 2

 14x - 9.8y = -336  (Multiplying equation 2 by 14)

 14x - 5y = 0   (From equation 1)

  • We get, -4.8y = -336

y = 70.
