Acc to the question, the ratio of the two numbers is 4:9

We have a formula: LCM * HCF = product of the two numbers. But this won't be applicable here.

From the ratio we get the two numbers are: 4x & 9x.

Acc to this the LCM should be 36x.

or, 288 = 36x.

or, x = 288/36 = 8.

Therefore the two numbers are : 4*8 = 32 & 9*8 = 72.
