Postulates

There are three postulates of the cell theory and they are: i) All living organisms are composed of cells. ii) The structure and functions of the cells are essentially the same. iii) The function of an organism is the result of the activities and interactions of constituents of the cell.

theory

German botanist M.J. Schleiden in the year 1838 found out that all plants are made of cells. A German Zoologist T. Schwann in the year 1839 also said that all the animals are made up of cells. They commonly presented their findings as Cell Theory.

Answer :

" Cell theory was proposed by German scientists Theodor Schwann and Matthias Jack Schleiden in 1839."

The main postulates of cell theory are:

1) All living organisms are made up of a cell.

2) The cell is the basic structural and functional unit of life.

3) All biochemical processes occur within the cell.

4) New cells are formed from pre-existing cells.

5) Cells contain hereditary information which is transferred from generation to generation.

Classification of protein:

1) Types of protein based on biological functions:

a) catalytic protein : pyruvate decarboxylase

b) structural proteins : Collagen , Elastin

c) Contractile protein :. Actin, Myosin

d) Transport protein : hemoglobin, myoglobin

2) Types of protein based on composition and solubility:

a) Simple protein : Albumin, Globulin, Lectins

b) Conjugated protein : glycoprotein, lipoprotein, Nucleoprotein

3) Types of protein based on Shape:

a) Globular protein : Albumin, Globulin

b) Fibrous protein : Collagen, Keratin

4) Types of protein based on Nutritional value :

a) Nutritionally Rich : Casein.

b) Incomplete protein : methionine, lysine
