Given : 6,8,10,12,16,20,15,_,25

To Find : what is the missing number

Solution:

6,8,10,12,16,20,15,_,25

group of 3

( 6 , 8 , 10 ) , ( 12 , 16 , 20 ) , ( 15 ,  x , 25)

6² + 8 ² = 10²

12² + 16² = 20²

15² + x² = 25²

=> x² =25² - 15²

=> x² = (25 + 15)(25 - 15)

=> x² = 40 (10)

=> x² = 400

=> x = 20

Hence missing number = 20

Another logic

6 , 8 , 10

(6 + 10)/2 = 8

12 , 16 , 20

(12 + 20)/2 = 16

(15 + 25)/2 = x

=> 20 = x
