6. (a, 0) and (0, b) are the two vertices of a
triangle. If the centroid of the triangle is at
the origin, then find the other vertex of the
triangle.

Answer:

Let the third vertex of the triangle be C(x,y) and the other vertices A(-3,1) and B(0,-2).

Coordinates of the centroid of the triangle = (0,0)

∴ (-3+0+x / 3, 1-2+y / 3) = (0,0)

-3+x = 0

x = 3

And - 1 + y = 0

y = 1

∴ The third vertex of the triangle is (3,1)
