6 -  \frac{a - 1}{2}  -  \frac{a - 2}{3}  =  \frac{3 - a}{4}

 \implies \: 6 -  \frac{3a - 3 - 2a + 4}{6}  =  \frac{3 - a}{4}

 \implies 6 -  \frac{a + 1}{6}  =  \frac{3 - a}{4}

 \implies6 =  \frac{3 - a}{4}  +  \frac{a +  1 }{6}

 \implies \: 6 =  \frac{9 - 3a + 2a + 2}{12}

 \implies \: 6 \times 12 = 11 - a

 \implies \: 72 = 11 - a

 \implies \: a = 11 - 72

 \implies \boxed{a \:  =  -6 1}
