Given :- A, B, C and D entered into a partnership investing 12,500 each for 5, 8, 9 and 10 months respectively. A is working partner and gets 12% of the total profit for the same. Find the share of each in a profit of 40,000 ?

Answer :-

we know that,

  • Profit is distributed in the ratio of their investment * time .

so,

Profit of A : Profit of B : Profit of C : Profit of D = (12500 * 5) : (12500 * 8) : (12500 * 9) : (12500 * 10) = 5 : 8 : 9 : 10 .

now, since A is working partner , he gets 12% of the total profit .

then,

→ A gets for working partner = (40000 * 12)/100 = Rs.4800 .

now,

→ Left profit to be distributed among them in ratio = 40000 - 4800 = Rs.35200 .

then,

→ Share of A = 4800 + 35200 * (5/32) = 4800 + 5500 = Rs.10300 .

→ Share of B = 35200 * (8/32) =Rs.8800 .

→ Share of C = 35200 * (9/32) =Rs.9900 .

→ Share of D = 35200 * (10/32) =Rs.11000
