a) The forces acting on the car are:

  1. Gravitational force (=mg)
  2. Normal reaction (=mg)
  3. Frcictional force (μmg)
  4. Thrust by the engine

b) The net forces acting on the care are thrust and frictional force.

c) The friction of the car can be reduced by:

  1. Having lesser irregularities on car's tires
  2. Having lesser irregularities on the road
  3. Using a lightweight car

d) Kinetic friction is applied to a moving car.

The other types of friction are static friction and limiting friction. Both act on stationary objects.
