6) A gas exerts a pressure of 3 atm on the walls of container. When this container is emptied
into a 10 litre container, the pressure exerted by the gas increases to 6 atm. Find the volume of
first container . Assume that the temperature of the gas remains constant.​

pressure of 2nd container p2 = 6 atm

volume of 2nd container V2 = 10L

Now,

By Boyle's law

p1 × v1 = p2×v2

3 × v1 = 6 × 10

v1 = (6 × 10)/3

v1 = 20 L

Therefore, the volume of the first container is 20L.
