6 A group of friends went out to play. Half of them were playing football in the
ground. Three - fourth of the remaining were playing cricket. The rest, 9 of them
were watching them play. Find the total number of friends in the group.

Answer:

Let total number of students be 200x

Half are playing football

Number of students playing football:

200x/2 =100x

Remaining students=200x-100x

=100x

3/4 of remaining students are playing cricket

Students playing cricket=3/4 *100x

=75x

Remaining students=100x-75x

=25x

According to given condition

25x=9

Hence x=9/25

Thus Total number of students will be

9/25 * 200=72
