Length of ladder = 10 m ( hypotenuse )

Length of window from ground = 8 m ( perpendicular height )

Length of smallest point of building to ladder = b ( base )

We will solve this through Pythagoras' Theorem

Hypotenuse² = Base² + Height²

10² = b² + 8²

b² = 10² - 8²

b² = 100 - 64

b² = 36

b = √36

b = 6

Therefore, the distance of smallest point of building to the ladder is 6 meters.
