6. A man is cycling in a windy place. He travels
12 km in against the direction of wind. In
doing so, he took the same time as he took
while going 28 km in the direction of the
wind. If the man is cycling at the rate of
12 km/hr, find the speed of the wind. (HINT:
When the man is cycling with the wind, then
wind speed is added to his speed otherwise
it is subtracted.)

Answer:

it the Velocity of the wind is v

then there is same time so .use S=ut

12=(12-v)t

28=(12+v)t

now 40 =24t

5=3t

t=5/4

36/5=12-v

then v=24/5=4.8kmh^-1
